PEACE EVERYONE, AS YOU KNOW I REALLY NEVER EVER WATCH B.E.T BUT LAST NIGHT I WAS FLIPPING THROUGH THE TV AND CAME ACROSS THE SHOW A HOT GHETTO MESS. THE ONE SEGMENT THAT I SAW WAS WHEN THEY WERE ASKING BLACK PEOPLE WHAT WAS THE (EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION). THEY HAD TO ASK LIKE TWELEVE PEOPLE AND ONLY ONE PERSON KNEW. I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RESPONSE OF THE INDIVIDUALS WHO DIDN'T KNOW THE QUESTION. THEY WERE LAUGHING AND SAYING "IS THIS A TRICK QUESTION" OR " I NEVER HEARD OF IT. I'M NOT ONE TO JUDGE ANYBODY BECAUSE I HAVE MY OWN HANG UPS AND IM STRIVING TO BECOME A BETTER PERSON EVERYDAY. AS WE ALL "SHOULD" KNOW THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION WAS A DOCUMENT IN WHICH DECLARED THE FREEDOM OF SLAVES IN THE TERRITORYS OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA. AS A PEOPLE WE ALL NEED TO STEP OUR GAME UP IN CERTAIN ASPECTS OF OUR LIFE. AS YOU LOOK AT OTHER RACES SUCH AS ASIANS, INDIAN, AND EUROPEANS THEY KNOW THEIR HISTORY ABOUT THEIR CULTURE. I ALSO RECOGNIZE THAT THE SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN CERTAIN AREAS ARE LACKLUSTER, BUT WE CAN'T USE THAT AS AN EXCUSE. JUST LIKE THEY DUMP DOPE IN OUR COMMUNITY, THEY ALSO PLACE LIBRARIES IN THEM FOR FREE. IT'S ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO SHOVE OUR OWN HISTORY DOWN OUR THROAT. NOW IF THEY ASKED EVERYONE ON THAT SHOW WHO IS "JACOB THE JEWELER" OR "NAME THAT RAPPER" WOULD THEY HAVE ANSWERED CORRECT??????

That is so true. We as Black people need to get our priorities in order because people these days are not concerned with learning about their black history. They only know what they see on tv, and obviously we're not learning very much about our ancestors and what they went through by watching the television. You are so right when you said that their is a library in every community where people can go to get educated, yet they don't, but they want to complain about how bad the school system is. We can't wait for someone else to educate us. If they are not doing it in the schools, then we need to take the initiative and do it ourselves because we can't wait on the public school system to catch up.

Unfortunately, this is what it is this DAY... Negative learn behaviors are being passed on from generation to generation. Our people are a people that have been tormented mentally.
We hoop and holla about bull and this is because there is no leadership among us.. no solidarity among us... Our so call leaders hoop and holla about bullshit///Jesse Jackson can show up and have plenty to say when it's being said that the Latino community take jobs blacks don't want...But can't show up when that Sistar(Meagan Williams)being held against her will in the Mountains of West Virginia with uncivilized cave people who tortured her, and dehumanized her cause she is Black..and they are hateful.
In school we aren't taught about our ancestors and those that were not afraid to DIE for what they knew to be right... I mean of course we get the lesson on Mr. MLK... but that's in February...
The minds of our babies are being poisoned by SoldierBOYS, Little Waynes and Three Six Mafia's (just a few examples) The parents aren't parenting....So many with many children claim they don't believe in abortion... but they have the babies and abort them after their born! Is that any better?
In the days of Nat Turner there was no question... if you wanted freedom you had to take it. In the days of the Honorable Marcus Garvey a plan was executed....
The other problem is WE somehow or another enjoy being apart of a SYSTEM.. that chew you up and spit you out....WE somehow or another believe that The Power Structures have our best interest at heart....This country was built by us but not for us... and they show and prove everyday....
